My name is Jon Shiroma and I'm a web designer.

I graduated Platt College with a Bachelors Degree in Media Arts in the fall of '07 with emphasis in Digital Video Production and 3D Modeling.

I started working in 'the industry' in 2006, trying to learn as much as I can.
Over the past 2 years, I have used Adobe Flash to build create dynamic web
sites, learned the importance of sticking to W3C web standards, cross browser compatibility issues (and how to avoid or overcome them), learned the ins and outs of content management systems such as eCollge and Blackboard, edited video for the web, learned SEO techniques, learned how to use social media networks for their SEO value, learned what makes a PPC campaign successful, and some of the finer points of web marketing.

In less than 2 years I went from 'intern' to 'creative director'. I held this position for 6 months until restructuring of the company budget brought on downsizing that shut down my department of 2. During my 6 months with the company, I learned about internet marketing and how to delegate and manage multiple projects with multiple people involved.

When I'm not working, you can find me in the canyons on my bike, working on my car, or just out enjoying Southern California with my friends.
